The European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) represents the third and final stage of a complete economic and monetary union among the countries participating in the European Union (EU), namely, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
